Services

Services

You know your child better than anyone. If school meetings go nowhere, grades slip, or evenings fall apart after class, trust your instincts. You are not overreacting.

Services are the ongoing work: counseling for your child, coaching for you at home, consultation on the school side, and forensic work for counsel. Formal testing, including Independent Educational Evaluations, social and emotional assessment, and behavior assessment, lives on Evaluations.

You do not need the perfect label to start. Tell us what's happening, and we will help you sort the next step.

Who we help

You have been carrying a lot, and sometimes even school professionals are not sure how to help.

Whether your child is struggling academically, having big feelings, or exhibiting challenging behaviors, we can come alongside you and share the load. We can also help you understand the educational side of things and help you get the most out of the support available to you at school.

The work we do

Four ways we work alongside families.

  • Counseling

Individual counseling for children and adolescents when worry, frustration, or behavior is getting in the way of learning and school. The work is practical: understanding what is making school hard, and building the skills that help your child get back on track.

    Counseling
  • Parent coaching

Support for you when your child is struggling emotionally or when challenging behavior has started to run the day. We work out what is driving it, what to try at home, and how to respond in the moments that keep going wrong.

    Parent coaching
  • Special Education Consultation

Help with the school side. We review the records, explain the IEP or 504 plan and the assessment reports in plain language, and prepare you for the meeting. Between meetings, it is also a place to think through what to raise with the team, and how.

    Special Education Consultation
  • Forensic Consultation and Expert Witness Testimony

Independent evaluation, record and evaluation review, and testimony for counsel in California special education matters. Retained by either side, and the work does not change depending on which. Full detail is on the forensic page.

Formal evaluations

Looking for an assessment?

Independent Educational Evaluations, psychoeducational assessments, autism evaluations, social and emotional assessments (ERMHS), and behavior assessments are all on Evaluations.

Evaluations

Looking up a condition

Start at What We Assess/Treat

If you are matching a concern by name, start at What We Assess/Treat.

What We Assess/Treat

How it starts

First contact stays simple.

Tell us what's happening.

Do not send records, reports, or sensitive details about your child through a public form. We will use that first conversation to understand your concerns and point you to the right kind of work. Fees are discussed at consultation.

What happens after that depends on the path: counseling for your child, coaching for you, a consultation on the school side, or a move into evaluation.

Choosing the right path

Use this as a static orientation, not a test.

If more than one sounds right, that is common. Start with the conversation you need this week.

If something still feels off after months of trying to explain it, trust your instincts. You are not overreacting. We can help you name the question without asking you to become the specialist in the room.

For school professionals & providers

Helping a family reach Crescent?

If you are a school professional or another provider helping a family reach Crescent, use the same contact path. Send the family. Do not put child records in a public form.

Crescent stays independent. We do not align with or against a district. We do not offer advocacy. The pages a family needs are the same ones listed above.

Where we work

By appointment, serving California’s Central Valley and Central Coast.

In person in Fresno, Madera, Merced, Santa Cruz, Monterey, and San Benito Counties. Virtual throughout California.

Start with a conversation

Restore your peace.

You do not have to carry this by yourself. Tell us what’s happening, and let’s figure it out together.
