Privacy Policy

This policy describes what Crescent Psychological Services collects through this website, what is done with it, and how to reach us about it. Families come to this site carrying private information about their children. The short version is that we ask you to send us as little of it as possible here, and we tell you below where the rest belongs.

What this policy covers.

This policy applies to this website. It covers the contact form, the consultation booking link, and ordinary website traffic information.

It does not cover the clinical record. Once a family becomes a client, assessment materials, testing data, and reports are held as professional records under separate obligations and separate practice policies.

What is actually collected.

Three sources, and nothing hidden behind them.

What you type into the contact form

Your name, your email address, your phone number, and whatever you write in the message field. The message field is free text, so what it contains is entirely up to you. Please see the section below before you fill it in.

What you enter to book a consultation

The free 15‑minute consultation is booked through Jane App, a third‑party scheduling platform. Information you enter there is collected by that platform under its own terms and privacy practices, not through this website.

What the website records on its own

Standard technical information such as your general location, browser type, and the pages you open.

Please keep the details off the public form.

A website contact form is not a secure channel. Anything you type into it about your child’s health, diagnoses, testing, discipline history, or school records arrives as protected health information, in a place that was not built to hold it.

So send us the outline, not the file. Your name, a way to reach you, and a sentence or two about what is going on is enough to start. We will set up a secure way to receive the rest.

If you would rather not put anything in writing yet, call (559) 287‑8351.

Please do not attach or paste reports, evaluations, IEP (Individualized Education Program) documents, medical records, or your child’s full story into the form. If some of that has already reached us that way, tell us and we will handle it as protected information and move the exchange to a secure channel.

How the information is used.

What you send is used to answer you and to decide, together, whether Crescent is the right fit. Specifically:

  • To respond to your inquiry and schedule the free 15-minute consultation.
  • To determine whether the question you are asking is one this practice can answer, or whether another kind of provider fits better.
  • To carry out and administer services if you become a client.
  • To keep the records a licensed practice is required to keep.
  • To operate and maintain the website.

What you send is not used to build a marketing profile of you or your child. Crescent does not send marketing email from inquiries submitted through this form.

Who it is shared with.

Crescent does not sell personal information. Crescent does not share personal information for cross‑context behavioral advertising.

Information reaches a small number of service providers who make the practice run. Those are described here as categories rather than as a vendor list, because a vendor list that is not maintained is worse than no list at all:

  • Website hosting and infrastructure.
  • Email delivery and the practice’s email service.
  • Scheduling and booking, which is Jane App for the free 15-minute consultation.
  • Practice management and secure document exchange.

Outside of that, information is disclosed only where the law requires it, where a court orders it, or where you have asked in writing that it be released.

Analytics and cookies.

The website uses standard measurement to understand which pages families find useful.

Pages that collect client information are excluded from tracking. No analytics, no advertising pixels, and no session recording run on the contact form, the booking step, or any page where a family is entering information about a child. This is a standing rule on this build.

One detail, stated precisely. If the site’s analytics already recognized your browser on an earlier visit to another page, the contact page passes that existing analytics identifier to our secure form provider along with the form, so we can see how families find the practice. It is a browser identifier, not health information, and no tracking code is added to the contact page to do it. It is not passed if you have turned analytics off under Cookie preferences or your browser sends Global Privacy Control. You can also clear this site’s cookies before using the form, or call instead.

There is no advertising network on this site and no session recording anywhere on it.

Most browsers let you refuse cookies or delete the ones already stored. Doing that does not stop you from reading anything here.

Global Privacy Control and other browser‑level opt‑out signals are honored.

Children’s information.

This site is written for parents. It is not directed to children, and children are not asked to submit anything on it.

The information about a child that reaches Crescent comes from an adult, usually a parent or legal guardian, who chose to send it. Please send as little of it as the situation allows until there is a secure channel in place.

If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, contact us and it will be removed.

Parents and guardians have rights regarding their child’s records that go beyond this website. Those rights are handled through the practice, not through this page.

How long information is kept.

Inquiries that do not become client relationships are kept only as long as there is a reason to keep them, and then deleted.

Client records are kept for the period required of a licensed practice in California, which is longer than the period for a website inquiry and is governed by professional obligations rather than by this policy.

If you live in California.

California residents have privacy rights under state law, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. Depending on how those laws apply to a practice of this size, those rights generally include the following.

  • The right to know what personal information has been collected about you and what has been done with it.
  • The right to a copy of it.
  • The right to ask that it be corrected.
  • The right to ask that it be deleted.
  • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Crescent does not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing here to opt out of.
  • The right to limit how sensitive personal information is used.
  • The right not to be treated differently for exercising any of these.

Some information cannot be deleted on request, because a licensed practice is required to retain parts of the record.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will need enough information to confirm that the request is really coming from you, and we will not use what you send for verification for anything else.

How the information is protected.

Reasonable administrative and technical measures are in place to protect what is collected. The site runs over an encrypted connection, access to inquiries is limited to the practice, and material containing health information is moved off the public form and into a secure channel as soon as it is identified.

No website and no method of electronic transmission is completely secure, and this page does not claim otherwise. That is the reason for the request above about the contact form. It is a real limitation, not a formality.

Links to other sites.

This site links to school districts, state agencies, and professional organizations, and to the booking platform. Those sites have their own privacy practices. This policy does not cover them.

How to reach us about privacy.

If you have a question about this policy, want to know what information is held about you, or want something deleted, contact the practice directly.

Phone: (559) 287‑8351

Please keep sensitive details out of the first message here as well. Tell us what you are asking for and we will take it from there.

Changes to this policy.

This policy will change as the practice changes. When it does, the updated version is posted on this page and the last‑updated date at the top is revised. Material changes will be noted on the page itself rather than made quietly.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911. This site is not monitored and is not for emergencies.
